Disney Dining Plan: Our 3 Favorite Quick-Service Locations
The Disney Dining plan offers versatile dining plan options for the whole family. If you’re staying at a Disney resort you have the opportunity get a meal plan for each night of your stay. However, with over 100 Quick-Service dining locations at the Walt Disney World Resort you may be wondering which ones to choose. There are many restaurants which offer an experience in and of itself but these locations are our top 3 for where they are located in the parks and their proximity to other attractions!
Rosie's All American Cafe at Disney’s Hollywood Studios
While Rosie's might not be the most gourmet place to eat at the parks or at the Studios, it has the benefit of something other Quick-Service restaurants do not: location. Nestled right along Sunset Boulevard, Rosie's has a large, shaded, outdoor seating area so it’s never hard to find a place to sit and relax- and it’s literally right down the street from Rockin’ Roller Coaster and The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror. While eating dishes such as: BBQ sandwiches, baked potatoes, hot dogs or salads, you and your family will enjoy hearing the screams from those riders visiting the fifth dimension and while eating your dessert you can hear Steven Tyler serenading VIP guests about to be jettisoned to his next concert. You may even get to catch a future star in the making as the Citizens of Hollywood make a scene just a few steps away.
Rosie's is also right next to the entrance for Fantasmic!, so it’s a great place to grab a bite before the show. Entertainment, attractions, and a whole heaping amount of food all together in one spot is what puts this in my top 3.
Sunshine Seasons at EPCOT
The theme of EPCOT has always been Discovery, discovery of the new and of what currently is. This is no different in the pavilion dedicated to the our Earth called: The Land. As you walk inside one of the first things you will discover is a large atrium (and air-conditioning) with, hot-air balloons paper kites and folded birds suspended from the ceiling. The land pavilion houses 3 attractions (The Circle of Life show, Soarin’, and my personal favorite: Living with the Land) 2 restaurants (The Garden Grill and Sunshine Seasons) and 1 tour (Behind the Seeds).
In the middle of the atrium is the seating for SunShine Seasons. I worry that this restaurant is largely overlooked as people rush through to get to Soarin’ or even Living with the Land but this is one place you’ve got to stop at and take a breath. With the EPCOT soundtrack playing in the background, the natural light flooding in from the massive skylight above and the fantastic smells coming from the kitchen you feel like you are on the edge of discovery yourself. With massive portions of a monterey jack and turkey on Ciabatta sandwich, savory fish tacos, or spicy mongolian beef and noodles, Sunshine Seasons has something for everyone. I would suggest this quick service any time you are in Future World at EPCOT.
Bonus: Take a ride on Living with the Land after eating. It will help the food settle and you might even get a little nap in as well to help recharge you for the rest of your day.
Casey’s Corner at Magic Kingdom Park
It was a tough choice but Casey’s Corner wins out as our top Quick-Service location at the Walt Disney World Resort. It has the best of both worlds: location and portions. Located on the northwest corner of Main Street U.S.A., Casey’s Corner is named after the famous baseball player from Mudville. However, Casey and the Cast Members donning baseball uniforms, have taken a delicious spin on this truly American dish. I’ve seen just about anything on top of these hotdogs: pulled pork, mac ‘n’ cheese, coleslaw, baked beans, and chili- just to name a few. Not only can you opt for the foot-long version and stay within the quick-service parameters, you also get a side, a drink, and a dessert! How magical is that?!
The seating outside is usually a little crowded, but I’ve always been able to find a seat as people are always running to their next FastPass+ reservation or show. Once you get a seat, you might be lucky enough to time your dining the same time as Casey’s Corner Pianist plays turn-of-the-century and current Disney favorites. Since you are right next to Main Street you are also likely to get a great view of the many parades which dance and sing along Main Street as well. Large portions of food and plenty of Pixie Dust all around geographically makes this my number one pick for Quick-Service dining.
Make a magical moment: Once you’re done eating don’t get up immediately and leave your table open. Look around for a family/party who really needs it (trust me there will be many longing eyes at the exit of the restaurant) and have someone from your group escort them to your table. Tell ‘em Mickey sent you.
Those are my top 3, but what are yours? Which ones did I miss and why? Feel free to share a comment below, as long as you keep it respectful!
